Dr. David Weinstein specializes in sports medicine, knee surgery, and shoulder and elbow disorders. He completed fellowship training at Columbia-New York Orthopedic Hospital in New York City in shoulder and elbow reconstruction and an additional fellowship overseas in orthopedic trauma. Dr. Weinstein is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he remained to complete his orthopedic surgery residency.
As associate clinical professor at the University of Colorado Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Denver, Dr. Weinstein is an avid researcher and passionate educator. He has published numerous papers and given lectures relating to his specialties.
Dr. Weinstein has held many prestigious positions including head physician for the 2003 US Pan American Games team and the 2004 Athens Summer Olympic Games. He was a team physician for the United States at the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympic Games and the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.

24.12.2 went for my pre-operation meeting with Dr. Weinstein on Monday due to re-aggravating my torn meniscus, the good Dr put his schedule person Denise on it & when she called me back to go over everything they had someone cancel & she squeezed me in the next day. The surgical team headed by Dr. Weinstein, nurse Ashley, asst Jeremy & a veteran Anastasia Dr Ervin Ret.AF thank you all for doing a great job, Y’all rock!! I’d like to thank the support staff at St Francis for doing a great job as well!!1st review from November “23”.Dr Weinstein has absolutely been a straight shooter with me he has toil me all the pro’s & con’s, how long the recovery is, what to expect when it’s over, how long I’ll be on the mend, he tells me so I can understand & make an informed choice. Like him a lot, I’m confident I’ll get better range of motion & be pain free when he’s done

Dr Weinstein is the best in my book, also I do brag about him being the "Top Dog" in Colorado Springs! I trust him and am at peace knowing he has my best interest in my surgery. My most recent visit was at Dr. David Weinstein’s office on Research Parkway on the Northside of Colorado Springs. The entire experience was excellent. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating; the building is clean and calming. Dr. Weinstein is very pleasant and took the time needed explaining various options for my upcoming procedure. Another physician, Dr. Karl Larsen, performed a different procedure in 2023. That experienced was the reason I immediately went to this group for another orthopedic procedure. I cannot recommend this group of physicians high enough. I need more stars.

The office and staff are very professional, and good at what they do. Dr. Weinstein was patient and thorough in his examination and explaining different treatment options. He has a great reputation and I see why- not only is he very experienced and skilled as a surgeon, he is also very caring and has an excellent "bedside manner."
Dr Weinstein was honest in his evaluation of my shoulder and while he said it won’t be perfect it doesn’t need replacement yet. I appreciate his honesty and thorough explanation of the condition it’s in and what I can expect. The therapists are great also- my shoulders both feel better than before the separation due to their excellent coaching.
He has done my shoulder in 2003, it was quick and easy, recovery was wax on wax off, on our fleet of trucks at work. I had lite duty and that's what I did.. .We had atleast 35 trucks and I cleaned them all . I was healed and have had no problems. I have long since retired, but kinda funny story as far as PT goes.
It was what I expect. I’ve been seeing Dr Weinstein for many years.He’s an Excellent Doctor. He takes the time to get to know his patience’s. It’s not and in/out process where you’ll find most doctors, where you’ll find your self in the parking lot in 10 minutes and you wonder what happened.. I have other questions bring that up at your next appointment, doctor has limited time for you.That’s not Doctor Weinstein. And Skills are even more important. treatment and surgery out comes are Stellar.
Feel very positive about the concern and care regarding my medical situation. Called me at 8pm to give me feedback on a CT scan. Which alleviated much stress. Personable and appointments were made within reasonable timeframes.Know i am in very good hands.
