Dr. William Ciccone II is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon and one of Colorado’s leading shoulder specialists, with extensive expertise in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery. A nationally recognized leader in shoulder arthroscopy, he is an active member of the academic orthopedic community, serving on professional committees, reviewing research for nationally recognized orthopedic journals, and maintaining membership in the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Dr. Ciccone was named a “Master in Shoulder Arthroscopy” by the Arthroscopy Association of North America, a distinction that reflects his expertise and allows him to train surgeons and residents in advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques. He also serves as a clinical instructor for the University of Colorado Physician Assistant Program and Rocky Vista University, helping educate the next generation of orthopedic providers.
Prior to working at Cornerstone Orthopedics, Dr. Ciccone earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine. After medical school, he completed his internship and residency at Pennsylvania State University, Hershey Medical Center and completed fellowship training in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Ciccone’s sports medicine experience is highlighted by his previous position as the team physician for the Colorado Rockies AAA Sky Sox team, as well as medical director for the Rocky Mountain State Games, the State Games of America, and the United States Olympic Training Center events in Chula Vista, CA. He is currently a team physician for Regis University.
