Originally from Ohio, Dr. Bascom joined Orthopedic Centers of Colorado in 2024 after completing advanced training in Total Hip and Total Knee Replacements. He specializes in Total Hip and Total Knee Replacements, Revision Total Hip and Total Knee surgery, and the management of infected Hip and Knee Replacements. He has a special interest in Direct Anterior Total Hip Arthroplasty as well as Robotic-Assisted Total Knee Arthroplasty.

Prior to working at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado, Dr. Bascom graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio Northern University, where he was an All-American soccer player. He then attended medical school at Ohio University, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency in Ventura, California. Following residency, Dr. Bascom spent an additional year of training in Total Joint Replacement at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California. His fellowship training included specialization in Total Knee Replacement, Anterior and Posterior Total Hip Replacement, as well as revision surgery and robotic knee surgery. Dr. Bascom is a candidate member of the American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons, as well as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

In his free time, Dr. Bascom enjoys exploring Colorado with his wife, snowboarding, visiting new restaurants, and playing and watching sports.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Bascom and the team at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado. From my very first appointment, Dr. Bascom made me feel heard and supported. He took the time to explain my condition thoroughly and made sure I understood all the different treatment options available — not just surgery.

I really appreciated that Dr. Bascom didn’t rush to recommend surgery right away. Instead, we discussed a clear game plan that started with conservative treatment options first. Together, we decided to start with steroid injections to help manage my pain and see if this approach could get me through to the new year.

His honest, patient-centered approach gave me confidence that I was making the right decision for my situation. I truly felt like a partner in my own care, and I’m so grateful for his thoughtful guidance. When I had the wrong address for my first appointment at OCC the desk answered and let me know the correct address. Took care of my late arrival and walked me thru filling out the extensive intake tablet as stressful as a senior is with technology. The Dr's exam was to the point and exrays on site were easy. Now a handy cap card would help till surgery next month. Maybe a brace for my knee from PT might be an idea too. I am in such pain it's hard to think about these things at the time. But I am looking forward to a comeback. At 80 I'm still working part time as a cosmotoligist, hair designer. And enjoy my clientele.

Dr. Nahan Bascom is an excellent knee surgeon. Having reached the 3+ week after-surgery mark, I'm delighted by the results. The new knee feels natural; and I've been able to walk on it since the day after surgery. Surgical pain has been minimal; and physical therapy is very helpful in loosening tendons without much pain. My wife and I had several pre- and post-op visits with Dr. Bascom and developed a high level of confidence in him. We had little concerns about his ability to get the job done in an excellent manner. He's a very good communicator and great listener, twp invaluable skills which put us at ease. We made the right choice.

After a freak accident in Portugal that fractured my hip (and having surgery there) then rehab in Denver, I researched orthopedic doctors to provide my follow up care and found Dr Bascom. I am grateful he accepted me post surgery let alone from an international surgeon.

Wonderful experience seeing Dr. Bascom. Less than a five minute wait in the waiting room. Dr. Bascom was thorough in his evaluation and recommendations. I was having trouble with the knee brace I had been given at the ER, So he had the trainer and their brace person work with me to find a better alternative.
Seems to be a well run office and the appointment was easy to acquire.
