Born in Denver but raised in New York, Dr. Madureira has come full circle to join us here at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado. She is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) trained Sports Medicine Physician with a passion for getting and keeping people active and working with individuals across the age and fitness spectrum. She was drawn to Sports Medicine by the ability to combine a broad range of treatments including exercise prescription, diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal ultrasound, and regenerative medicine. She is an active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine & the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Prior to working at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado, Dr. Madureira obtained a Bachelor of Science at Tulane University in New Orleans, a Master of Public Health from Columbia University in New York and attended medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in PM&R at Montefiore Medical Center in New York where she served as chief resident in her final year. Subsequently she completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital – assisting with sideline & training room coverage from the high school to professional levels. She has earned several accolades including resident of the year as well as the Leo M. Davidoff Society award for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students.

Outside of the office, Dr. Madureira enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, reading and trying all types of spicy food.

Dr. Madureira has been incredible to work with for my hip and ankle issues. For a 30 year old in a 60 year old body, I’ve felt incredibly taken care of and hopeful for progress and healing because of Bari. She takes the time to listen to my concerns, answers my questions, collaboratively discuss the options forward and provides clear and transparent communication for the procedures and follow up care. I’ve now had three injections with her over two years, all of which were done easily and timely! I’m so grateful for her and would recommend her to anyone looking for an ortho!

I had a great experience on my visit to Dr. Madureira. She was very thorough in diagnosing my injury and explained the various options for treatment. She was very patient and answered all my questions regarding the pros and cons of the various treatment options. I would highly recommend her.

Dr Madureira is an excellent doctor who knows her craft. The procedure that I had is helping me heal my partially torn rotator cuff. Now it’s up to me to do the PT prescribed. I know the medicine from the injection will take some time to absorb into my system and I am willing to work hard to make it work as it’s up to me now to do the work to strengthen my muscles.

Dr.Madureira is an excellent doctor who has helped me heal my partially torn rotator cuff with the PRP treatment. She is a stellar professional who has a fabulous bed side manner which helped me (anxiousness) get through the whole procedure. I appreciate her ability to break down what she was doing throughout the process in layman's language that I could understand. It has been 3 days now and I feel so much as well as not taking the medication she prescribed; if I had intense pain after the treatment. I am afraid of getting shots and she was very gentle and it did not hurt as much as other times at other places. She has a positive attitude and will answer all the questions. Dr. M is very knowledgeable and I'm sure this treatment will subside if not restore my full range of motion in my shoulder.
