Kirk Jeffers, MD
Before medical school, Dr. Jeffers spent time in Vail, CO helping patients rehabilitate and recover from orthopedic injuries. This gives him an interesting perspective on patient care as he has helped guide patients through every phase of an injury: from diagnosing them on the field, to performing their surgery, to helping them rehab and recover. He completed medical school in Tampa at the University of South Florida. He then did his orthopedic surgery residency in New Orleans at Louisiana State University. After completing residency, he moved here to Denver to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine Surgery at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic where he helped take care of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and Cherry Creek High School.
Dr. Jeffers is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. He provides surgical and non-surgical care of joint, muscle, tendon and ligament injuries. Taking care of world class athletes, he fine-tuned his skills in complex ligament and tendon repair/reconstruction. He also takes on complex revision cases. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has published on rare injuries, ACL reconstruction in Division I football players, and complex hip anatomy.
Dr. Jeffers is a family man who loves to enjoy the outdoors and sporting events with his wife, Susie, their children and their dog. He enjoys skiing, snowboarding and playing sports outdoors. Dr. Jeffers is also an avid fan of the NFL, NCAA, MLB, and NBA.
"I take pride in listening and helping patients make shared decisions. I want to ensure that no one leaves my office feeling like they were not heard or not understood. It is my goal to teach you about your injury so that you understand all of your options and can choose the best one for you and your life. I consider it a privilege to help patients live the highest quality of life so they can continue to enjoy both work and play," said Dr. Jeffers.
