Dr. Thomas Eickmann joined Cornerstone, a division of Orthopedic Centers of Colorado, in 2005. As a total joint specialist in hip and knee replacement he does primary hip and knee replacement as well as revisions of the hip and knee. Dr. Eickmann has a history of being an entrepreneur and innovator. He championed barbed suture closure in joint replacement and served on the Angiotech speakers bureau popularizing a now common closure technique. Dr. Eickmann helped design hip and knee replacement implants and some trauma products for Kyocera, a medical device manufacturer. Dr. Eickmann has also designed instruments for Innomed.

Dr. Eickmann has had the opportunity to serve as an American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons moderator and critical evaluator, a member of the Adult Reconstruction Knee Program Committee, and a surgical skills trainer. He was also a reviewer for The Journal of Biomedical Materials Research. He has served as the Medical Director of Joint Replacement at Avista Adventist Hospital and Lutheran Hospital.

Dr. Eickmann has published multiple research articles on hip and knee replacement. His work appears in journals and textbooks relating to joint replacement. Dr. Eickmann has also used his medical talents to make a difference in the lives of those in need by traveling with Global Health Initiatives’ medical mission teams to Africa and South America. When Dr. Eickmann is not performing a surgery, he loves to go biking and spending time with his wife and three kids. His other hobbies include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and being active in his local church.

I am returning to Eickmann for a third surgery (unrelated to my first two) so that says everything. Two knee replacements and a hip replacement. Eickmann was recommended to me by one OR nurse and two PTs. Professionals who see the results of his work day in and day out. He is an excellent surgeon and gives you the information you need to make an informed decision. No nonsense. All business which I like in my surgeon. My first surgery with him was 7 years ago and the outcome was excellent. He is all about outcomes which is what any patient wants.

The lidocaine and cortisol shot have been very effective. Very happy Dr. Eickmann suggested this approach. 6 - 12 weeks is the likely length of time for this remedy. May be doing this again this spring?

After having my left hip replaced several years ago, I've been putting off having my right hip replaced, despite the increasing pain and increasing disability to do normal daily tasks. Having now met with Dr. Eickmann, I feel much more confident about having this surgery performed. Dr. Eickmann listened to my concerns, discussed my previous experiences, and answered my questions fully, so I now feel confident and prepared to have my hip replacement. Dr. Eickmann answered all my questions with thorough explanations, and discussed all of my options, explaining and contrasting the potential surgical approaches available, thus helping me now feel fully confident that, despite my having osteoporosis, I can now look forward to this hip replacement having a positive outcome, and a shorter recovery period than my previous hip surgery. Working with Dr. EIckmann, I fully expect to be able to resume my normal activities and regain my life style. My brother and his wife have both had multiple surgeries performed by Dr. Eickmann, and they are thrilled to hear that I have chosen him as my hip surgeon.

I have no words to express how grateful I am to this team! Due to my previous insurance carrier, I kept getting denied for a knee replacement that I desperately needed. Luckily, my insurance changed and I was referred to Dr. Eickmann! I have to be honest, I was scared to death to have this procedure, you hear so many bad stories. My experience was not awful in the least! Dr. Eickmann and his team provided a life changing service to me. Ive had zero issues since surgery, which was Feb 9th. Pain for me was MINIMAL, uncomfortable, sure, but they set you up for success with the pain management. My scar looks amazing too! The entire staff of OCC was, is GREAT! I truly appreciate all they have done!

Dr Eickmann did bilateral knee replacements for me Fourteen years ago that worked out amazingly well. In the last four months, he has done hip replacements on both sides . I would not go to any other doctor anywhere. If I needed his services. He explained everything that was going to happen.How it was going to work And what I should expect for outcome, and all three times it exceeded what he told me. I had zero pain with the hip replacements within about five days of surgery. I did not even use my full allotment of pain pills either time. The doctor is worth ten stars.As is the whole staff there.

I had a left hip replacement with Dr. Eickman 6 weeks ago at Avista hospital. The surgery prep, surgery and post surgery were great.
