Dr. Michael Huang is a fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist with advanced expertise in hip preservation, as well as shoulder and knee injuries. Originally from Littleton, Colorado, Dr. Huang has lived, worked, and stayed active across the state, including in Vail, Grand Junction, and Colorado Springs, where he has been a part of the community since 2012.

Dr. Huang completed his sports medicine fellowship at The Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail,
Colorado, where he received specialized training in the treatment of complex joint conditions. He
has a particular focus on hip preservation surgery, helping patients maintain joint health and return
to an active lifestyle. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Huang is actively involved in advancing the field of orthopedic surgery through innovation with industry partners and participation in medical education, where he helps train other surgeons.

Throughout his career, Dr. Huang has contributed to the orthopedic literature with numerous
publications over the past 19 years, reflecting his ongoing commitment to research and improving patient outcomes.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Huang enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is passionate about an active Colorado lifestyle and can often be found skiing, mountain biking, golfing, or roasting coffee in his free time.

Dr. Huang & staff were very attentive. Now that I'm farther along things have definitely improved. My range of motion has increased significantly and my pain has also improved. My husband had hip surgery this February. Dr Huang and his staff were wonderful! Everybody was very knowledgeable and professional and kind! The nursing staff that took care of him after surgery was also amazing.

I saw Dr. Huang regarding some issues that I was having with arthritis. He was very personable and spent time explaining my test results. He was a good listener and answered my questions. Dr. Huang had a measured approach and didn't try to encourage surgery, explaining it wasn't warranted. I will definitely return to him for follow-up care if needed.

Dr Huang performed labral reconstruction on my hip- as an athlete and someone who wants to maximize my health and opportunities, it was imperative I get back to sport and have the best potential outcome. Dr Huang did 3 of my surgeries over the last 10 yrs - labral repair of hip, labral repair of my left shoulder, & then right shoulder labral repair, rotator cuff repair, & removing large calcium deposits from my tendons. Dr. Huang is a sharp doc who knows what he’s doing, but also very personable and approachable. He’s current with tools and techniques and has a comfortable office and surgery center. The only challenge I encountered was scheduling appts each step of the way; it sometimes took up to a couple of weeks and numerous voicemails with his staff in order to get a response and move to the next step (consult—MRI—review of MRI—surgery). It was about five months from initial appt until surgery simply because of that issue. I’d still highly recommend the doc and his team for getting a critical job done well.

I been there a few time already, they are helping me with pain in my left leg so I walk right. So far they have really helped me. I've seen the Doctor and his PA and both are great and friendly and listen to you. I'm walking better and hope to be able to throw away my cane in the near future.

I showed up at 9:45am for a 10:15 appt, got in early, took X-rays, spoke with Dr Huang and was out of there at 10:50. In that time Dr Haung also explained everything in detail. Can’t wait for him to perform my surgery and be free of pain. Thanks.

Dr. Huang completed a total hip replacement (anterior approach) with fantastic early results. I’m two weeks out and already moving well and nearing the end of using a cane. He also has a very thorough evaluation and explanation and is patient, answering all questions. I highly recommend him.
