Dr. Choudhry did an excellent job treating my trigger finger. The surgery itself went smoothly, and both he and his medical staff were professional, kind, and highly competent. I was very pleased with the care I received leading up to and during the procedure. Unfortunately, my experience after surgery was disappointing. A month later, I am still dealing with significant stiffness. I attended two post-operative follow-up appointments, but the only advice I received was to continue flexing my finger and making a fist. When that didn't improve my condition, I was referred to a hand physical therapy office just down the hall. I was under the impression that this follow-up care was part of my surgical treatment, but it wasn't. Instead, I was quoted $250 for the initial consultation and $150 for each therapy session. Since I already paid $1,200 out of pocket for the surgery and don't have insurance, these additional costs were simply not affordable. It was frustrating to learn that resolving a post-surgical issue would require paying even more. As a result, I've had to rely on YouTube videos and online resources to find exercises that may help reduce the stiffness. That's not what I expected after investing so much in the procedure. I believe post-operative care should include meaningful support for issues that arise as part of the recovery process. If I pay a mechanic to fix my car and something still isn't right, I'd expect them to help make it right without immediately charging me for another service. I expected the same level of follow-up care after surgery. The surgery itself deserves five stars, but the lack of affordable post-operative support turned what began as a very positive experience into a disappointing one. I hope the practice considers improving its follow-up care, especially for patients who are paying out of pocket.
