Andrew W. Parker, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, joined Orthopedic Associates in 1992. Dr. Parker attended Northwestern University Medical School. He completed his internship and residency through Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago before completing a fellowship at Louisiana State University in knee and shoulder sports medicine.
Dr. Parker was the head team physician and medical director for the Colorado Avalanche from 1995 through 2017. He also served as a consulting physician for the Denver Nuggets. Dr. Parker is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America. He was a member of the National Hockey League Physician’s Society, serving as president from 1992 to 1994 and from 1995 through 2017.

Dr. Parker is exactly the doctor everyone hopes they’ll end up with when they have an orthopedic issue.He is personable, warm and cares about providing the best possible treatment to his patients.I did have several questions regarding when and to what extent I could resume some exercise activities and he was very patient and thorough addressing my concerns.When One experiences an unfortunate orthopedic injury, it is so comforting and Reassuring when you know, you have one of the best in the business in your corner.Thank you very much, Dr. Parker. Dr. Andrew Parker is a top-notch orthopedist with loads of experience and knowledge. He is friendly, professional, and caring. He asks questions and listens. He explains things clearly. He doesn't act rushed during appointments. Whenever possible, he tries non-surgical options first. I highly recommend Dr. Parker.

Dr Parker was upbeat, friendly & attentive. He showed me the X-rays that had been taken that day & explained why my shoulder hurt so badly. He offered trying PT, w/the next step having a cortisone injection. Because I was hesitant about the cortisone shot, he agreed to write a script for PT and let me see if it helped. He said to contact him if/when I wanted the injection. I didn’t feel rushed nor slighted by him in any way. His friendly humor didn’t mind when I mixed him up with another doctor, who was far older than him! I’m comfortable with him & will continue w/him re: my shoulder problems.I’m updating the above review, approx a month after my first appointment with Dr Parker. He was wonderful: patient and empathetic as we discussed my options for dealing with my aging, arthritic body part! He listened to my fears and my thoughts and helped me reach a decision. He truly seems to be a surgeon who cares for people even more than the body parts we bring to him! Thank you, Dr Parker!

Dr Parker was really good at answering all of my questions with very clear explanations. He also asked me a lot of questions to help him diagnose the problem. From there he outlined my options and possible next steps, taking a conservative approach to treatment, which I appreciate. Office and medical staff were professional and friendly.

Dr Parker is excellent! He was always thoughtful and efficient. He kept me honest about my recovery and answers any questions I had.The day of my surgery he gave excellent care before and after, making sure any issues or concerns I had were addressed. If you need an ACL fixed, go see dr Parker!
