Dr. Gregg Martyak is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). He holds the distinguished Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand and specializes in treating conditions of the hand, wrist, and elbow in both adult and pediatric patients. His expertise includes microvascular surgery, complex nerve injuries, traumatic reconstruction, arthroscopy, and joint replacement.
Dr. Martyak earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Virginia and Georgetown University. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Rothman Institute/Thomas Jefferson University. He then pursued additional fellowship training in hand and microvascular surgery at the Philadelphia Hand Center, one of the nation’s top programs for upper extremity surgery.
Dr. Martyak served in the United States Air Force from 2008 to 2012, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He has extensive experience in combat casualty care and deployed multiple times to Iraq and the Middle East. During his military service, he served as a clinical instructor for the combined Air Force/Army orthopedic residency program at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Martyak was part of the historic team that performed the first hand transplant at a military facility. Since 2012, he has continued his work in Colorado Springs, where he remains committed to delivering the highest level of care for patients with hand and upper extremity injuries.

Ashley is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. She works alongside both Dr. David Weinstein and Dr. Gregg Martyak, evaluating and treating shoulder, elbow, hand, and knee conditions. Ashley spends most of her time caring for patients in the clinic setting but also assists with surgeries, including arthroscopies, fracture repairs, and joint replacements among others. She is a firm believer in patient-centered and evidence-based medicine. Ashley strives to provide her patients with holistic care so they can reach their goals and optimize their health.
Stephanie is a nurse practitioner who specializes in evaluating and treating patients with upper extremity disorders. She assists Dr. Martyak with surgical procedures including acute fracture and trauma care, joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, and complex nerve procedures. Stephanie earned her Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of Colorado. Prior to graduate school she worked for 8 years as Neuro-Trauma ICU nurse. She has worked with Dr. Martyak since 2012 and enjoys working with and taking care of her patients. She volunteers seeing patients at an indigent healthcare clinic in Colorado Springs and when she is not working Stephanie enjoys hiking, running, skiing, and traveling.
