Dr. Thomas Mann is a fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist, who joined Cornerstone Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in 2000. He is a fellow with The American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the leading orthopedic organization for Sports Medicine in the United States.
Prior to working at Cornerstone Orthopedics, Dr. Mann graduated with honors from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, where he was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and selected to the Honor Society. Following medical school, Dr. Mann completed his orthopedic training at Penn State University and subsequently completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Ohio State University, which included extensive training in arthroscopic surgery, research, and training room and team coverage experience.
While primarily involved with football at Ohio State University, Dr. Mann also worked with the baseball, soccer, basketball, ice hockey, gymnastics, lacrosse, and swim varsity teams. Additional team coverage experience was gained at Penn State University, Sierra College in California, as well as high schools in Pennsylvania, Ohio, California, and Colorado. In addition to football, hockey and soccer are two sports of particular interest to Dr. Mann. His experience includes working with the Columbus Chill Minor League Hockey team and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. Dr. Mann also worked with US Soccer, and was the team doctor for the Under-17 Soccer Team during a European tour.
Dr. Mann’s community service includes acting as a camp doctor for Young Life on a regular basis, and serving on the Young Life Central Denver Committee. He has covered the Ralston Valley High School Football Team for the last five years, and has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Denver Hands for Hope Day.
Dr. Mann has also travelled to Honduras for a medical mission’s trip, where he practiced pediatric orthopedics. When Dr. Mann is not meeting with patients or volunteering in the community, he and his wife enjoy many outdoor pursuits. They also enjoy frequent trips to Pennsylvania and Ontario, Canada, where their respective families live.
