Cary R. Motz, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Motz specializes in knee and shoulder arthroscopy and reconstruction along with sports medicine at Advanced Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists in Denver and Parker, Colorado.

Dr. Motz received his undergraduate degree and completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Oklahoma. He received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Motz completed the San Diego Sports Medicine Arthroscopy Fellowship, focusing on advanced techniques in knee and shoulder arthroscopy. In addition, he is board-certified in Sports Medicine.

Dr. Motz believes that good communication with his patients is the key to a successful treatment outcome. He is currently the team physician for Rock Canyon High School and previously served as the Medical Director for the Colorado Storm Soccer Club. His hobbies include playing golf and skiing.

1st time seeing Dr. Motz for a shoulder issue and he was great. Came in to see me after reviewing x-rays, did a couple tests & quickly ID'd my issue. His recommendation of OTC meds is working and I couldn't be happier, I wish I wouldn've made an appointment with him sooner.

I recently had rotator cuff repair surgery performed by Dr. Cary Motz at Milehigh SurgiCentwe, and I truly could not have asked for a better experience.

From the initial consultation to post-op follow-ups, Dr. Motz was professional, thorough, and compassionate. He took the time to explain the procedure in detail, answered all my questions with patience, and made sure I felt completely confident and informed. His calm demeanor and clear expertise immediately put me at ease.

The surgery itself went smoothly, and my recovery has been much better than I expected; thanks to Dr. Motz’s skill and the support of Milehigh team. The staff was incredibly attentive, and I always felt well cared for every step of the way.

Dr. Motz was terrific. Finally, a doctor who says, "this injury is not worth opening up, "YET". 'If you injure it further, like squatting to read a putt, you could pull the meniscus and/or tear it further. Let's just be cautious and watch how it heals on it's own. HOW REFRESHING IS THAT!!!!!!! Knee surgery is not something anyone wants to experience. However, under Dr Motz, I felt at ease. Lots of questions and he took the time to explain everything and calm my fears. Now at eight weeks post-op, he is still making sure the healing process is amazing.

Six months later, the meniscus didn’t heal properly. While this is discouraging, Motz continues to be helpful and caring about my situation.

Dr. Cary Motz has done rotator cuff surgery on me, and more recently a broken clavicle repair. The rotator cuff repair was especially difficult and worked out fine. He is conservative which meant more time in a sling. In hindsight I'm happy about that. The office staff is friendly, and Angie is a standout. I almost always get in within 5 or 10 minutes of my appointment. Dr. Motz is straightforward and easy to talk to. As you can tell, I am very pleased and highly recommend this office.
