Andrew W. Parker, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, joined Orthopedic Associates in 1992. Dr. Parker attended Northwestern University Medical School. He completed his internship and residency through Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago before completing a fellowship at Louisiana State University in knee and shoulder sports medicine.

Dr. Parker was the head team physician and medical director for the Colorado Avalanche from 1995 through 2017. He also served as a consulting physician for the Denver Nuggets. Dr. Parker is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America. He was a member of the National Hockey League Physician’s Society, serving as president from 1992 to 1994 and from 1995 through 2017.

I met Dr. Parker almost 8 years ago. He was instantly friendly and professionally nice. “Call me Andy” he introduces himself. He’s not pretentious rather direct with a classy personality. This man has loved his profession and helped everyone he sees. Never anxious to take your injury into the surgery room, unless it’s absolutely necessary after all tests.
His opinions are so respected that if you hire him you will not be disappointed! I thought I had to have shoulder surgery after falling on black ice on a PetSmart parking lot in Lakewood. I was 75% convinced I’d torn my rotator cuff, but after all tests including MRI, Andy gave me the best news: He walks in and had just looked at my MRi and report: “It looks good as the team comes into my exam room. I immediately felt the weight of a long recovery soon to disappear. “You have normal wear, and tendinitis from this injury”. You’re going into Physical Therapy for 8 weeks and come back to see me. I was so relieved and grateful for an honest opinion. That’s Dr. Andrew Parker, Denver CO., extremely successful orthopedic surgeon that could retire but he is still healthy and young enough to continue his beloved profession.

Andy Parker is the best. He always takes times and he talks to you on the level. I've had multiple procedures with Andy and I wouldn't go to any other surgeon. His PA Keith is so good, having conversation conversations with Keith is the net equivalent of having conversation with Andy. Great team!

Dr Parker and his associates, took the time to listen to the reason for my visit. Reasonable tests were performed along with a physical exam testing my strength. It was determined that my shoulder pain was healing and to continue my exercises. I was seen on time of my appointment. The office staff are very friendly and helpful. Dr. Parker is amazing! Experienced, great bedside manner and really knowledgeable. My daughter had ACL surgery and from the minute we met, through surgery and now during the post-op recovery process he and his staff have been so helpful. He is easy to talk to, doesn’t rush us and he tells it to us straight, which we appreciate. Surgery was a success and everyone had made the entire experience so easy. Highly recommend him!
