Dr. Erisha Tashakori is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the comprehensive care of spinal conditions, from minimally invasive procedures to complex deformity reconstruction.

Born in Ciudad Ojeda, Venezuela, Dr. Tashakori immigrated with her family to Arlington, Texas at a young age. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in International Relations and Global Studies before pursuing her medical degree at McGovern Medical School in Houston. During medical school, she developed a passion for surgery and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

She went on to complete her residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. To further refine her expertise, she completed advanced fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic’s combined orthopedic and neurosurgical Spine Surgery program, where she gained specialized experience in the latest techniques for both minimally invasive and complex spine procedures.

OCC: 1/5 stars for the patient portal (get an MRI, don't get results, readings, or doc notes? Cool). Negative 3/5 for the Medical Assistant. I made attempts to never visit OCC again because of the MA, despite a great doctor, but failed (see 1/5 star rating), and again hated my visit to OCC because of the MA.

Dr Tashakori is amazing! She is very thorough during the examination, she explains everything thoroughly and has a very pleasant demeanor during the appointment. She pinpointed my issue (this was after seeing 3 other doctors and many months later in severe pain) and I had a correct diagnosis/procedure and relief all within a few weeks of seeing her!

Dr. Tashakori was very honest about my situation. My Chiropractor suggested a catscan on my neck. After he reviewed the catscan he suggested that I would likely need neck surgery. I was referred to Dr Tashakori and she reviewed the catscan and suggested PT to start and see if that would help. I just finished PT and I no longer have the pain I was previously experiencing. It’s refreshing to have a surgeon tell you don’t need surgery right now. Dr. Tashakori is highly recommended!

We were referred to Dr Tashakori by our GP to address the nerve pain in my husband’s arm. Previous modes of pain relief were not working and he was feeling desperate. When I spoke with Veronica, Dr T’s assistant, I relayed the level of my husband’s frustration with his pain.. I further explained that with our son’s upcoming wedding, we were especially anxious about getting him some relief before the big day.
Veronica was very helpful in getting us seen as soon as possible. When a cancellation happened, she worked hard to get us in.
Dr Tashakori was kind, attentive, and respectful. She patiently listened and made a recommendation for him to receive a cortisone injection and connected us with an anesthesiologist. She also will follow up with him once he’s had the injection.
We are both very grateful to have been referred to Dr Tashakori.
