Andrew Apple, MD

Dr. Andrew Apple is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of knee and hip arthritis, including primary and revision joint replacement. After graduating from Duke University, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Apple earned his medical degree and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. He then pursued a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Prior to joining Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Specialists, Dr. Apple began his career as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Joint Replacement at Tulane University School of Medicine, where he was involved in the education and mentoring of residents and medical students. Dr. Apple has been an invited speaker at regional and national meetings, has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and has presented his research at regional, national, and international conferences. He currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty and the Journal of Knee Surgery. Dr. Apple is a Fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Apple feels that patient education is essential for successful orthopedic care and loves seeing patients return to their activities, whether with surgical intervention or non-operative treatment. He is excited to establish his practice in Colorado and is currently accepting new patients at the Denver and Parker locations.

I've had a number of encounters with Dr. Apple. He was able to do difficult surgery on my knee following a break of my patella. And that was on a knee replacement. His care and concern have been extremely helpful in my healing. He's also helping me deal with my right leg as well. My husband is in need of a hip replacement and is sick with cancer. He is working with him to make sure that when the surgery takes place it is in my husband's best interest. I can't say enough good about him as a doctor.

I've now had surgery on my other leg as well. Both have been difficult situations. Dr Apple is extremely good, conscientious and gives great care. Again. I can't say enough about him as a doctor and surgeon.

It has been a blessing to have Dr. Andrew Apple for my orthopedic surgeon. I was having buckling and pain with a TKR. He had me do PT sessions; when these did not improve my knee; he gave me the choice of having a revision or to go on as I have been doing. I am glad I chose the revision. The post-op care I have received by Dr. Apple is amazing. He has a keen sense of attention to detail, is compassionate, and listens to your concerns and questions. Dr. Andrew Apple didn't just help me and talked about full right hip replacement and talked to us about the risks I would be taken when I did the surgery, 4/28/25 since my BMO was not at 40 I was at a 46 from October 4/2023 I lost a total 115 pounds. Everytime I had a appointment with Dr. Apple starting on 5/3/2024 each time I came in o lost 5-7 pounds. He was proud that I was pushing. Finally decided I couldn't take waiting to get to 230 which ideally my BMI should be 40 or below and the risk for infection was high, here I am now current weight 246 and I have a titanium right hip and currently recovering from surgery and doing PT so I can finally walk without a walker. I want to thank DR. Apple for believing in me and finally fixed my right hip. Great orthopedic surgeon and his team.

Even though this is a Workcomp injury, I trust his treatment more than any other Dr . I know he has my best interest. Where as W/C Drs I do not trust. They are for the company and Dr Apple is for the patient (me). God placed Dr Apple at the hospital when I needed his expertise.
