Coming to Colorado by way of New England, Dr. Ferrari received an early introduction to orthopedics as a career through his father, the head of Sports Medicine orthopedics at The University of Massachusetts Medical Center, and one of the team orthopedists for the Boston Red Sox. His father‘s enjoyment of the profession and the successful outcomes of his patients rubbed off on his son, who eventually decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. Despite a childhood filled with hockey and baseball, he fortunately never needed his father’s orthopedic services. Following his academic years, Dr. Ferrari moved to Colorado, where he became the director of Sports Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center. In 2001, he relocated his practice to Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Specialists.

I had left shoulder Rotator Cuff surgery fromDr Ferrari. It was my first ever serious surgery,so I was very anxious and stressed. My two appointment, Dr Ferrari took the time to explain what my XRay and MRI showed. I had a severe tendon tear and arthritis that has always giving me irritating pain in my shoulder for years. I feel blessed to have Dr Ferrari as my Orthopedic surgeon with all his years of experience.More important Dr Ferrari made my wife and I feel like family, instead of just a number or next patient. This was difficult situation made easier with the time and attention given. Wait times were short. I was always made aware of my progress so I was able to understand what I needed to accomplish before the next visit. The staff was always friendly and courteous. The outcome was a success! Dr. Ferrari came highly recommended. I was not disappointed. He clearly explained what he was doing during the exam. We are well down the road of resolving my shoulder issue. And the whole office functions efficiently. I was seen at the appointed time!
Dr. Ferrari is hands-on and was the person who administered my hydrocortisone injection, which was done to perfection. I was a little nervous as many people have complained to me about their own experiences elsewhere in the country.I confess to having waivered and adjusted my review and I made a huge mistake. So this is edit number 3 with a deletion of my last post. Bottom line, Dr Ferrari and his PA-C are a phenomenal duo. Never doubt that. I highly recommend them and thank the whole team for being dedicated to being excellent at their jobs.
Dr Ferrari is a wonderful surgeon. He corrected my right shoulder several years ago and in the process of treating my left shoulder. Would highly recommend him!
Dr. Ferrari and his PA Melinda provided me with excellent service prior, during and after my surgical procedure to reattach my meniscus. I am very pleased with the results and highly recommend Dr Ferrari and his team.
A return patient, repaired right shoulder a few years back and total replacement of left shoulder about nine months later from a previous injury. Both procedures were performed without any complications, and total professionalism. Care and follow-up and keeping me informed about the healing process was excellent. Dr Ferrari is an amazing doctor! I recently had a rotator cuff repair surgery for a total tear, arthritis, and bone spurs. It was an open cut and arthroscopic surgery. I’m 3 weeks post op and doing good.Dr Ferrari also has an excellent support team … Melinda PA and Allison. Allison always answered my emails and calls promptly.I love that the office organizes all the scheduling. You know exactly who to contact.
I recently had a reverse total shoulder replacement surgery. Dr. James Ferrari is encouraging, warm, caring, and supportive. I am very thankful for his excellent expertise. I am well on my way to healing and know I have a new life ahead of me. Dr. Ferrari is a true inspiration for people suffering from pain. I had total shoulder replacement surgery in 2022 and it’s been great. I am pain free and enjoying gardening again. Dr. Ferrari is compassionate and makes you feel like you’re his only patient. He doesn’t rush through you appointment and he gives you his undivided attention.
