Types of Anesthesia
Many people are familiar with the idea of general anesthesia, but we’re happy to tell you that with advances in medicine and our expertise, there are better options. Traditional, inhaled general anesthesia comes with an increased risk of side effects and complications, which is our team always likes to explore options for your care.
Nerve Block
With this technique, your anesthesiologist uses an ultrasound machine to safely and precisely anesthetize individual nerves and groups of nerves. As a result, you will not feel anything during surgery and will have excellent pain control afterwards. Every team physician is an expert in performing an array of safe and effective nerve blocks.

Spinal Block
By placing a very small amount of local anesthetic near where the nerves leave the spinal canal, your anesthesiologist can ensure that you don’t feel any pain during your surgical procedure.
Intravenous Anesthesia
In addition to one of the techniques above, your anesthesiologist can use intravenous anesthetics so that you have a peaceful sleep during your surgical procedure.
