Karla Aviles, OTR/L

Karla Aviles is a licensed Occupational Therapist who earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2021. Passionate about improving healthcare accessibility, Karla had the honor of presenting her phenomenological study, “Promoting Autonomy in Health Maintenance for Deaf Individuals,” at the Texas Occupational Therapy Association’s 2021 Conference. This research underscores her commitment to enhancing the lives of underserved communities through innovative and compassionate care. For the past two years, Karla has specialized in outpatient hand therapy, helping patients recover and regain function following injury or surgery. She is currently working toward certification as a Hand Therapist (CHT) to further expand her expertise in this specialized field. Outside of work, Karla enjoys hiking, yoga, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
