Rudy Kovachevich, MD

Biography

Dr. Kovachevich (“Dr. K”) is highly trained in surgery of the hand, elbow, and shoulder with vast knowledge of complex upper extremity conditions. He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and has completed an added subspecialty certification in Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Kovachevich has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, and lectures both locally and nationally on upper extremity issues. He maintains membership in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), the Colorado Orthopedic Society, and Rocky Mountain Hand Society. Dr. Kovachevich also has State of Colorado Workers Compensation Level II certification.

Dr. Kovachevich specializes in shoulder replacements, shoulder and elbow arthroscopy and reconstruction. He treats fractures of the clavicle, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.   He specializes in elbow and wrist ligament reconstruction, along with nerve compressions and sport related injuries.

Dr. Kovachevich was voted at his medical school graduation as “Most likely to play a doctor on TV.” He is still awaiting his big break. When not taking care of his patients, Dr. Kovachevich enjoys spending time with his family and being active outdoors. He can routinely be found on the local Colorado trails systems running and hiking. He enjoys skiing in the mountains in the winter and golfing in the summer.  As a life-long athlete and former collegiate competition runner, Dr. Kovachevich is focused on getting his patients back to their own active Colorado lifestyles.
